This notice explains how Rambler Books LLC ("Rambler Books", "we") uses personal data when you visit this website, the site of Driftway, an imprint of Rambler Books, or when you write to us. Rambler Books LLC is the controller of that data.

What we collect and why
Visitors
Basic technical data in server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested. We keep it to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and this site has no contact form and no mailing list.
People who email us
Your name, email address and message, so we can reply.
Our authors
Contact details, the contract, payment and tax records, and any biography you give us, so we can publish your books, pay you, and meet legal duties.
We do not sell personal data. Submissions are closed. Before a reading window opens, this notice will describe how a manuscript is handled. Please do not send a manuscript to the address above.
Who we share it with
Only service providers who help us run the imprint, under contract and only for that purpose: the host that serves this website, the host that delivers published files such as cover images, our email provider, and our accountants and lawyers. We share an author's tax and payment details with tax authorities, and with retailers and banks, where that is needed to pay the author. We may disclose data where the law requires it.
International transfers
Rambler Books LLC is based in the United States, and some of our providers process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Correspondence: up to 2 years.
- Author contracts, royalty and tax records: for the life of the contract, and as long afterwards as tax law requires.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or move it to another service. Write to info@driftwaybooks.com and we will reply within one month. If you are in the UK you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, to your local data-protection authority. We would rather try to resolve a concern first.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. It does not ask you to accept a banner, because there is nothing to opt into. A strictly necessary technical cookie may be set if one is required to protect the site from abuse. We do not currently set one.
Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date.
